Refurbishment and extension of a three-storey Edwardian house.

Value: 250,000

Brief: Stagg Architects were commissioned on a full service for the design and construction of a single-storey rear extension and loft conversion along with the entire refurbishment of this Edwardian house in Clapham. To speed up the process the tender drawings and specification were produced while the project was still being considered by the planning authority. Work was therefore able to commence on site as soon as planning permission was obtained and the Party Wall agreements were signed. A high specification design including thin-format platinum white bricks with white mortar, and thin-frame glazing was developed, requiring a high-level attention to detail throughout the project.

After completion of the project the client said;

"I can tell, after three projects with different architects, that Stagg Architects is by far the best firm we have used. From design to execution, Ben was always available with not only a creative and problem-solving attitude, but also a firm hold on the details that make a difference between a project where everything goes well (design, budget, timing) and the others. That for us was the right mix of creative talent, project execution, skills and trust'.
