the esplanade, southend

Design of a mixed-use development comprising 23 apartments and 7,000sqft restaurant on a prominent seafront site
Brief: On behalf of Redab Properties PLC we achieved planning permission for the redevelopment of the Esplanade Public House site in Southend to provide 23 new apartments and a restaurant. The site presents challenges as well as an amazing opportunity, with cliffs rising behind the property to the north, and clear views over the estuary to the south. We have focused on developing a high-quality and deliverable proposal which will help enliven and improve this important part of the town, while stabilising the cliffs above. Each of the 23 apartments benefits from being dual aspect with full width balconies giving south facing views over the Estuary.
